The Rhinelander Police Department Records Division is responsible for keeping and maintaining the records of the Rhinelander Police Department.  Those records include
non-reportable accidents, offense reports, and citations.  If you would like a copy of a record, please contact the Rhinelander Police Department Records Division at (715) 365-5300 during normal business hours.  You may obtain a copy of an accident report by clicking on the link below. 
Faxed or mailed copies are charged a $3.00 fee plus a $.25 per page fee for reports.  Reports picked up at the Police Department are not charged the $3.00 fee.

The following are different ways to request a copy of a crash report:

This link listed below is the DOT internet site.  The customer will be able to purchase a crash report, if available, and print right away.  They will need to pay either through a Credit, Debit Card or an ACH Account




The below listed site contains a DOT e-mail address; customers will have to fill in information in order for the WI DOT records unit to process the request:




The above e-mail will go to someone in the records staff and they will respond and send out the request via US mail.  This process may take longer.


Although the MV4000 accident forms will no longer be available through the Rhinelander Police Department, the Rhinelander Police Department will continue to maintain, and provide upon request, completed, non-reportable accident forms.  Certain other accident related records, including traffic citations, case reports and/or photographs, if taken, will continue to be available.  Established record fees will apply.


How to report a crash:


1. Go to: Wisconsindot.gov/crashreporting


2. You need your driver license number, vehicle identification number (VIN) or social security number, and insurance information


3. Follow the website instructions to complete your crash report
